Wednesday, Jeffrey Sach Lecture at NYU:
Jeffrey Sachs, named one of the top 100 most influential people by TIME magazine, will be lecturing at NYU (in Silvery Center's Jurrow Lecture Hall at 100 Washington Square East at the corner of Washington Place) to bring together issues of politics, culture, global health, economics, and sustainable development as he assesses the current trajectory of global economic problems and presents possible solutions for the future. From 2002 to 2006, he was the Director of the United Nations Millennium Project and has dedicated much of his professional career to the alleviation of extreme poverty and the development of environmental sustainability and he currently is a professor at Columbia University. Seating is first come, first serve so get there early.



Friday, ESP Colloquium:

A round-table discussion as a prelude to the Sustainable Urbanism Colloquium. Students who have had, or are seeking, experiences in city planning, sustainable design, energy consulting, land-use management, environmental protection and related disciplines are encouraged to participate! An open conversation will take place following several brief presentations by ESP students.
Pizza will be served. Contact Steven Caputo or Betty Cremmins for more info.

Recycled Content Business Cards:

>Pricing for cards on recycled paper is as follows (for orders of 250 cards

50 ppl = $56.00 eachWe need a minimum of 50 people for a price of $56. If we get more people however, the price will go down. I will not place an order with fewer than 50 people.

>If you're interested, please take a look at the card template attached, fill out the attached .xls sheet with the information you would like included on the card, and email Lisa Hook (ljh2134@columbia.edu) by noon Friday, October 10. Once the completed order is submitted, it will take about 1 week for the cards to be processed.


**Upcoming Events:

The Sustainable Urbanism Colloquium: Come share a slice of pizza with some of New York City's top professionals in the fields of city planning, urban design, landscape / architecture, energy consulting, transportation, environmental protection and advocacy. Guest speakers each week will give students an insider's view of the urban sustainability movement, while the informal lunchtime setting will encourage lively discussion and networking. Events will take on Monday's or Fridays from 1 to 2pm in Room 405 IAB—see below for schedule. Pizza will be served!
